Yes, I am cognizant some of the stuff I post is rather bizarre or just plain “silly” (these complainers are lucky they don’t see it all! Lol) but it is only an attempt to humorously illustrate the absurdity of those who cannot practice the “JUST SAY NO” philosophy of self-restraint and not access, view, and then complain about this website. Grow up!
The intolerance displayed by some people for another’s Right to Free Speech and expression of personal opinion is really quite frightening especially when the substantial powers of legitimate government can be used to further suppress personal opinion. Interesting, the “government” will acknowledge serious long running problems in our district, but while simultaneously refusing (or are unable?) to take immediate remedial action to stop festering difficulties, “it” instead chooses to target a low-level messenger running a private blog.
[Of course it can also be argued the Grand Jury only publically reported the “complaints” as filed and any disparaging remarks were made by the submitting person not the Grand Jury per se. I never-the-less found aspects of the report lacking pertinent information, extremely biased and misleading.
Oh yeah, I forgot something the other day. The Grand Jury also suggested the district reduce dependence on our attorney for advice. Where would they recommend the Board of Directors go when the president of a multi-million dollar land development corporation repeatedly threatens lawsuits if he doesn’t get his way?]
Wow. Tax dollars at work.
“THEY” TRIED BUT FAILED
How much less informed and “questioning of authority” would this country be if such shows as “Laugh-In”, “Saturday Night Live”, and The Smother Brothers were never presented for public exposure? If musicians like Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, John Lennon, Sting, Weird Al Yankovic, to name only a few, were censored and not allowed to perform their perspectives? What about comedians like Lenny Bruce or George Carlin? The list is unimaginable and as always, the audiences vary due to individual likes and dislikes.
LAKEDONPEDRO.ORG is nothing in comparison to such historically important influences on our society and resulting ways of thinking but is grounded in the same principles: public expression of personal opinions, perspectives, beliefs and causes. Some will get it, others won’t.
QUESTION: What can possibly be done to help those who claim to be injured by information posted on LAKEDONPEDRO.ORG to which they themselves voluntarily access? If they have no self-control maybe imposition of severe fines and penalties against the offending blogger might work? Better yet, why not enforce necessary laws that haven’t been passed yet and just dispatch any resistance with a special weapons assault team? (This is really not so funny when you consider that is exactly how matters like this are often handled in some other countries.) The problem may appear to be immediately solved, but it is only a temporary solution until the next person begins asking questions and “Speaking their mind” to others. Perhaps kill them all and trust history to decide which side was valid and based on truth?
Ever hear the song “They Dance Alone” by Sting in reference to the missing people of Chile under the Pinochet regime? [The women were dancing with photographs of their missing loved ones.] It’s a song on the “…..NOTHING LIKE THE SUN” album from 1987. I would recommend it but also caution you it is extremely powerful and might even elicit a tear or two if you seriously consider what is being relayed.
Here’s the music on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS8mq7eCJnY
Here are the lyrics:
THEY DANCE ALONE (GUECA SOLO)
Why are these women here dancing on their own?
Why is there this sadness in their eyes?
Why are the soldiers here
Their faces fixed like stone?
I can’t see what it is that they despise
They’re dancing with the missing
They’re dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
Their anguish is unsaid
They’re dancing with their fathers
They’re dancing with their sons
They’re dancing with their husbands
They dance alone They dance alone
It’s the only form of protest they’re allowed
I’ve seen their silent faces scream so loud
If they were to speak these words
They’d go missing too
Another woman on the torture table
What else can they do
They’re dancing with the missing
They’re dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
Their anguish is unsaid
They’re dancing with their fathers
They’re dancing with their sons
They’re dancing with their husbands
They dance alone They dance alone
One day we’ll dance on their graves
One day we’ll sing our freedom
One day we’ll laugh in our joy
And we’ll dance
One day we’ll dance on their graves
One day we’ll sing our freedom
One day we’ll laugh in our joy
And we’ll dance
Ellas danzan con los desaparecidos
Ellas danzan con los muertos
Ellas danzan con amores invisibles
Ellas danzan con silenciosa angistia
Danzan con sus padres
Danzan con sus hijos
Danzan con sus esposos
Ellas danzan solas
Danzan solas
Hey Mr. Pinochet
You’ve sown a bitter crop
It’s foreign money that supports you
One day the money’s going to stop
No wages for your torturers
No budget for your guns
Can you think of your own mother
Dancin’ with her invisible son
They’re dancing with the missing
They’re dancing with the dead
They dance with the invisible ones
Their anguish is unsaid
They’re dancing with their fathers
They’re dancing with their sons
They’re dancing with their husbands
They dance alone They dance alone.

No kidding, I got the cold chills just typing the lyrics. Can you imagine living in such an environment?
“They Dance Alone” probably applies to many countries right now. What’s happening in Syria?
I am an American citizen and will continue to express my opinion about the serious difficulties this district is facing. If you came to meetings you would see for yourself.
Well, believe it or not, someone just provided some good advice and saved you viewers from approximately three pages of attempted humor blah, blah, blah examples of what could happen in Lake Don Pedro if such intolerant people had their way. Perhaps another time?
Until later, hope you all laugh with joy and dance just for fun.
My best to you and yours, Lew
