So, while “we” happen to be on the subject of turkeys, and other such foul things (lol) …… at least there is a spin-off bright side to the years of madness –

Too bad these trembling little cowards apparently can’t read for comprehension either.

I recall many tunes/songs (in the past Free America) with such references to being killed by something figuratively many times. Often reflecting the feelings of heartbreak from a failed romantic interest. Maybe “bad memories are killing someone’s happiness for the future”, etc.,? Though a different context, do you recall the lyrics (and song title)

“….killing me softly with his song, killing me softly with his song……”

I always appreciated the song when occasionally heard (not part of my own collection) but those specific four words “killing me softly with”, at which time I would insert my own lyrics to finish the concept of being killed “softly” by reoccurring painful emotions. The words were haunting and stuck with me rather like laser focused for me personally during an extremely difficult time.

A soft killing. Hummm. Could be physical or emotional. The later being some type of horrible emotional pain that is never left alone to heal properly. Patiently dormant until stimulated in some way. Doesn’t completely destroy you. Never does. No release like in seriously finishing you off permanently, though sometimes you might wish it could and/or would – do just that. Perhaps some sort of divine heavenly sent bolt of mercy to stop that slow, methodical, degradation of the happiness in life? Ahhhh turkey squirt! This is depressing and I digress. Or did I?
