TDS’d FOTHER MUCKERS and DEMO-SLAVES

NOT LIKE THIS AGAIN!

Well, probably won’t try this again. (Combining four different projects each containing their own slew of massive revised files.) So many frigg’n files with which to contend. Naturally, if I actually knew what I was doing…… like performing a simple little tune on the guitar – things would go much easier.

ONLY HANDFUL BUT WORKABLE

Obviously, there’s only a handful of chords that I know anyway – (as listeners surely appreciate) lol (— still amazes me how many songs can be distilled down into a few basic chords with some type of “filler” for the rest of the composition) …. Yet someone who was a true musician could knock that tune out in one or two recording attempts. But me? Not sure what the actual percentage is, but I hit an awful lot of sour notes trying to find that perfect one – or combination. Over and over, until – GOTTCHA! Name that audio file to use but it inevitably gets confused with all the other similar ones. Duh!

DISTINGUISHING FILES (reminds me of chasing new passwords! lol)

I try to distinguish them with slight file name changes…..but eventually still get tangled up – probably the lack of sleep is another major contributing factor to such poor performance. (And of course…. slow internet speed, PG&E outages and “power flickers”, noise of canine nails clicking across the floor, one right foot toe is a little shorter than the corresponding one on the other foot – lol, (just checking), etc. Excuses, excuses……yeah? lol)

Example: maybe a working file with the name of “THIS LAME TUNE” which contains the drums and a later attempt with the guitar. So then I edit and mix the two = “THIS LAME TUNE 02 drumguitar”, then, “THIS LAME TUNE 03 Harmonica”, etc. Pretty soon there will be “THIS LAME TUNE 08b G+Flute KEEP”, “THIS LAME TUNE 08c FLUTE-vocal KEEP” “THIS LAME TUNE 09e FINAL KEEP elec-guitar KEEP THIS ONE”, “This LAME TUNE …….blahblahblah ?????? what the hell am I doing? I’m drowning in files! lol

WHERE’S THE *&^%$# FIDDLE AND VIOLIN?

So this morning realized I had posted the wrong file yesterday which, of course, is really no biggie in the scheme of life I suppose, but to me it was irritating because I left out some of the back-up instrumental and written stuff – violins, drums, scrolling fonts, etc. which I thought was good, well, at least acceptable for my purposes at the time. So what to do? Apparently the “FINAL FINAL” file had been overwritten with another with the accidental same name. CRAP! Could I go back and find those specific revisions in all the different folders created for this one project? Yup, a needle in a haystack.

NAMED EACH ONE OF THEM DIFFERENTLY DUMB ASS – GO FISH!

OK, that should help. Violin Keep 07, Bass drum Keep02c, blah blah blah…..still TOO MANY FILES! Why so many files? Because I keep them for situations like this morning. Where is that &^%$#@% violin piece? Search, search, search,……GOTTCHA!

SCROLLING LYRICS

Long scrolling lyrics (and accompanying almost music) are a blessing and a source for potential problems down this LAME ROAD of editing once produced into one file. Everything frozen as is but change one small aspect of that scrolling “time line” and everything else will be out of sync, then add to that difficulty of all the CONFLICTING REVISIONS. Crapola. Very discouraging, but still more rewarding at the same time.

NOT WHAT ENVISIONED BUT IT WILL WORK

So here’s the final, final, “keep this one revision” (a Frankenstein-like stitched together piece that’s not what I had created yesterday and wanted – because there’s still stuff missing!….. whatever. Actually this could be another blessing in disguise because I do have a tendency to throw too much into these LAMES anyway. Need to curb the enthusiasm perhaps? Live and learn I suppose. Still therapeutic in processing and trying to understand the insanity of this world we live in right now.

Oh well, My best to you and yours, Lew

MISSING CONTINUATION OF LYRICS AT END: “I WILL NOT COMPLY” “WE WILL NOT COMPLY”
