I DID IT! REPLACED MY SECONDARY SEAGATE BARRACUDA HARD DRIVE!
Yup! I am cautiously very, very pleased and believe the replacement of a failing/failed internal hard drive with an identical replacement is working – along with the backup restore! (I am so glad we made that trip to Modesto for the external drive. REM? Tornado watch on HWY 132 outside Waterford?) Although the backup process was somewhat complicated with a few difficulties with the Windows 10 home upgrade (at least for me) it never-the-less works! (so far)
I probably could have gone for a larger capacity internal drive but I figured this being my first experience with digging around the “mysterious guts” of my computer – why ask for potential problems doing something different from the original equipment manufacturer? Well, going to check on the reinstall.
KISS!
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!
Guess what?
Added bonus…..my computer is running so much faster! Again, I don’t know that much about this stuff but I guess it stands to reason if a hard drive is going bad it will tax the resources of the computer system more than if functioning properly? Right? I don’t know – seems logical. Regardless my computer is processing much faster! Like when brand new!
Whoopee!
My best to you and yours, Lew
Oh yeah….when I was weed eating a week or so ago I remember taking off my watch but have no idea where I put it down. Or up. (Probably hanging on a tree branch somewhere.) Oh well, it will turn up …..in time…right? At least I know it wasn’t accidentally left behind inside the computer case during the procedure.
(you don’t smell smoke do you? – lol :))
